Member Rewards Instant Redemption

Posted: 10 August 2009

If you have one of our Visa® Platinum Credit or Visa Debit cards with Member Rewards, and are a frequent visitor to one of our branches, be sure to check out our Member Rewards display cases.

We now maintain a stock of some of our popular merchandise rewards in our World Bank Main Complex branch, our IMF HQ2 branch, our IFC branch, and in our Lending Center at 1750 H Street. This way you can instantly redeem your points without having to go online or call the Rewards Member Service Center.

For example, let’s say that you’d like to redeem some of your Member Rewards points for an iPod Touch, a digital picture frame, or a GPS system for your car. Just stop by a BFSFCU branch, browse the display case, choose the item you want, and tell the representative at the Information Desk. The representative will deduct the points from your Rewards account and get the merchandise for you.

Earning points with our Member Rewards program is easy, and we believe that redeeming your points should also be easy. Short on time? Take advantage of our new instant redemption option --- just one more reason why BFSFCU’s Member Rewards program is second to none.

Family Membership

Posted: 8 May 2009

In the past, family membership in the Credit Union brought to mind the nuclear family, or perhaps, the household. For many members, it simply meant that their spouse and children could join. And that’s still true, but membership now means much more. “Family membership” is a far-reaching term, and now includes your extended family.

What does that mean? Well, it means that if YOU are a member, then your SIBLINGS (including step-siblings), PARENTS (including step-parents), SPOUSE and CHILDREN can become members. But it also means that if your spouse becomes a member, then his or her siblings and parents can become members. If your parents become members, then their siblings can become members.

Yes, this means that your BROTHER-IN-LAW and SISTER-IN-LAW can be members. As well as your UNCLEs, AUNTs, NIECEs, NEPHEWs and COUSINs. And your BROTHER-IN-LAW’s and SISTER-IN-LAW’S PARENTS. And so forth. Sounds complicated? It’s not. Just think of it like this: If they’re related to you, then they’re eligible for membership. This means that all the benefits that you enjoy as a member of BFSFCU can be enjoyed by your entire family, not just those on your particular branch of your family tree.

Joining the Credit Union used to be an in-person process, meaning that sooner or later you would need to come to DC and meet with one of our Member Services Representatives in one of our branches, during our business hours. Not a hardship… unless you’re a family member who doesn’t work or live in downtown Washington DC. Today, becoming a member is easier than ever. Your family members can now join online at BFSFCU.org/join and our representatives are available 24/7 to answer any questions they may have about our products and services.

Bank-Fund Staff Federal Credit Union is a safe and secure place to save, and a convenient source of credit, for thousands of members. If you think that some of your family members and extended family members might benefit from our services, have them visit our website (BFSFCU.org). If they want to become a member, they simply need to click the join the credit union quick link and follow the onscreen prompts.

We look forward to providing the best in financial services to you...and to your family.
