BFSFCU has become the target of a phishing scam. If you have received an e-mail that appears to be from BFSFCU like the example below, PLEASE DO NOT RESPOND, OR YOU COULD BECOME A VICTIM OF A PHISHING SCHEME!
Phishing or brand spoofing, is a scam where the perpetrator sends out legitimate-looking e-mails that appear to be from a well-known or trusted company in an effort to “phish” or extract from you personal and financial information.

Dear Member Of Bank-Fund Staff Federal Credit Union
This is your official notification that your account has been Limited. We recently reviewed your credit card and it seems that you are using the same credit card for 2 accounts. As you can read in our User Agreement ( section 1.48 ) opening multiple accounts is strictly forbidden. You are now requested to provide information relevant to your account. Bank-Fund Staff Federal Credit Union will investigate the matter promptly and if the investigation is in your favor, we will restore your account.

The phishing e-mail above being sent to our members carries a link that, upon clicking it, takes you to an illegitimate website and urges you to provide your OBSN (Online Banking Security Number) and Password.
If you receive an e-mail that appears to have been sent by Bank-Fund Staff Federal Credit Union, and looks suspicious, or you have entered your OBSN and password on the fraudulent website, please contact member services immediately at (202) 212-6400 or 1-800-9BFSFCU (1-800-923-7328).
Remember, BFSFCU will never e-mail you asking for your sensitive personal information.
