eTransfer

Transfer money securely between your BFSFCU accounts and accounts at other financial institutions with our eTransfer service. eTransfer resides within our Online Banking system, and is an easy way to move money where you need it.

How does eTransfer differ from other transfer methods?

Our eTransfer service is a convenient way to transfer funds between your accounts at BFSFCU and accounts at other financial institutions. Members whose transfers are largely between domestic financial institutions will find eTransfer within Online Banking fast and easy to use.

How does eTransfer work?

When BFSFCU transfers or receives money to or from another financial institution, the money transfer is processed through a secure network called the Automated Clearing House (ACH). Each business day, financial institutions process transfer requests on the ACH network, which routes the funds to the appropriate receiving bank. The receiving bank processes the arriving ACH transfer, and credits the receiving account.

This process generally takes three business days to complete. Weekends and federal holidays are not considered business days for the purposes of ACH transfers.

For international transfers, we recommend using our eWire service, also located securely within Online Banking. If you have any questions about eTransfer or to get advice about which of our transfer services best meets your needs, please call us at (202) 212-6400.
