Thank you for choosing to be part of our community at Bank-Fund Staff Federal Credit Union (BFSFCU) (“Company,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). We are committed to protecting your Personal Information (PI) and your right to privacy. This Privacy Policy is designed to help you understand how BFSFCU collects, shares, processes, and protects your Personal Information.
In this Privacy Policy if we refer to:
- “Website,” we are referring to any website of ours that references or links to this policy
- “Services,” we are referring to our website, including Digital Banking, and other related services, including any sales, marketing, or events
Personal Information Collected
When you access or use the Services, we may collect Personal Information from you. The types of Personal Information we collect and share depend on the product or service you have with us such as:
- Personal Information you provide via forms, applications, or other online fields. This includes names, addresses, phone numbers, email addresses, and various online identifiers. Our website is designed for optimal viewing with cookies enabled. For example, cookies store your preferences for when you visit our website. We do not monitor your online activities after you leave our website.
- Other Personal Information you provide to us via secure channels. This includes your personal identification, tax identification number, birth date, income, proof of employment or retirement status, and account balances. BFSFCU may also collect voice characteristics to identify and authenticate you on phone calls to improve the member experience and provide increased fraud detection and prevention measures.
- Information provided through our Apps: The BFSFCU Cards app collects username, password, phone number, email address, card number, IP address, and device ID. This information is used for validation, support, or internal reporting purposes. The BFSFCU digital banking app collects username, password, phone number, email address, member number, security questions, IP address, and device ID. This information is used for validation, support, or to detect unusual account activity. It also allows you to locate ATMs near you, but only if you expressly authorize that feature.
- Information we collect from others. This includes your payment history, credit history, and verification of your eligibility for membership at BFSFCU.
Children’s Personal Information
BFSFCU does not intentionally target children under the age of 13 without parental consent. We also do not knowingly collect Personal Information from children who use our websites.
How We Use Personal Information
BFSFCU uses your Personal Information as necessary (a) in order to perform its obligations under the applicable membership agreements, disclosures, or other documents you agree to; (b) where legally required; (c) where necessary for the legitimate performance of our business interests provided there is no overriding impact on your interests or rights; and (d) for marketing purposes (described below).
We do not and will not sell your Personal Information. We may use or share information to enhance your experience on our website, to help deliver our ads on your web browser, and to measure advertising campaign effectiveness. We may also share your information as required to meet legal and regulatory obligations.
Use of Data for Marketing
We may use your Personal Information to form a view on what products or services we think you may want or need, or what may be of interest to you. We may contact you with marketing communications using the Personal Information you have provided to us if you have actively expressed your interest in a product or service or have used a product or service of ours and, in any case, you have not opted out of receiving that marketing, to the extent permitted by applicable law. Where required by law, we will get your express opt-in consent before we share your Personal Information with any company outside of BFSFCU for marketing purposes.
When and How We Share Information with Others
We sometimes share the information we collect from and about you with other third parties in accordance with our Privacy Notice. Additionally, we share information with public and governmental authorities as required by law or as necessary to investigate illegal conduct or misuse. We only share information with your consent, to comply with laws, to provide you with services, to protect your rights, or to fulfill business obligations.

We have implemented reasonable technical and organizational security measures designed to protect the security of any Personal Information we process.
How Long Do We Keep Your Personal Information?
We keep your Personal Information for as long as is necessary for the purposes of maintaining our relationship with you, performing an agreement with you, complying with a legal or regulatory obligation and internal administrative or security needs.
How You Can Control Your Information
If you no longer wish to receive mail or e-mail from BFSFCU related to new product or service offerings, promotions, or special offers, please complete this marketing opt-out form. Please note that opting out of promotional mail and e-mail will not preclude you from receiving mail or e-mail related to your monthly account statements, tax forms or notices, notices regarding service disruptions, or other required notifications.
BFSFCU collects voice characteristics to identify and authenticate you on phone calls with your consent and you have the ability to opt out at any time. For more information, please see the BFSFCU Voice ID page.
If your web browser settings allow cookies, our website will utilize them. You may disable or remove cookies by accessing your web browser settings. You can also update your cookie preferences on our website by clicking the button below.
Our website will still function without cookies, but some features may not work properly.
Based on the applicable laws of your state or country, you may also have the right to request access to the Personal Information we collect from you, change that information, or delete it in some circumstances. Sale of Personal Information
It is BFSFCU policy not to sell Personal Information, and we have not done so in the past 12 months. Because BFSFCU does not sell your Personal Information, we do not offer an opt-out for that.
