In early January, we shared on our website that Travelex, our international wire transfer partner, experienced a world-wide outage on December 31, 2019 that halted international wire processing.

On January 20, we started to receive inbound international wires.  For details on outbound international wires in USD, please login to Digital Banking.

Travelex, our international wire partner, is making progress in restoring their systems. On January 18, Travelex has confirmed that the first of their customer-facing systems in the UK are restored. They also confirmed that their phased restoration approach for their remaining markets is now firmly underway.  This is positive news; however, at this time we are still unable to share a precise date of service restoration for our international wire services. Please click the link below to access the FAQ section Travelex has published with the most recent information.

If you are planning to initiate an international wire in the near future or have an urgent request, a potential interim solution might be available but it works in limited circumstances. This solution involves wiring USD to the US based correspondent bank of the international beneficiary bank. If you would like to explore this interim solution, please send us a secure message or call us at 202-212-6400.

We continue to actively work with Travelex as they continue to recover full functionality of their systems and we will keep you updated as new information becomes available.

We apologize for this inconvenience.
