BFSFCU Voice ID is a faster, easier and secure way to confirm your identity when you call Member Services.

We love to hear your voice when you call us for information or assistance. And now your voice – combined with our leading-edge technology – can make banking more convenient and secure.

BFSFCU Voice ID creates a “voiceprint” by measuring more than 100 different characteristics of your voice – everything from how you use your lips and diaphragm to pronunciation, accent and much more. Then, the system uses the voiceprint to automatically verify your identity when you call us, so you may no longer need to answer security questions when you call.

The next time you call Member Services, in most cases BFSFCU Voice ID will quickly and automatically verify your identity.

  • Q: What is BFSFCU Voice ID?

    A: BFSFCU Voice ID is a voice authentication technology that allows us to verify who you are based on over a hundred different characteristics that represent your voice. 

    By recording your unique BFSFCU Voice ID, we can protect you and your account in a way that is convenient, easy to use and secure. And, because BFSFCU Voice ID will automatically verify it's you within the first 10-15 seconds, you may no longer have to answer security questions every time you call.

    Please note: BFSFCU Member Services Representatives may ask additional verification questions to protect your privacy and the security of your account for higher value transactions.

  • Q: Is BFSFCU Voice ID available for free?

    A: Yes, BFSFCU Voice ID is free for Credit Union Members.

  • Q: Does my BFSFCU Voice ID work anytime I call the credit union?

    A: BFSFCU Voice ID can be used any time you call our Member Services line at 202-212-6400. When you call other areas of BFSFCU that may not use BFSFCU Voice ID, we will continue to protect your privacy by using other methods of authentication.

  • Q: Will BFSFCU Voice ID work if I have a cold or my voice changes?

    A: Yes, your voiceprint will work even if you have a cold. If you have a health condition that severely affects your voice, such as laryngitis, we may need to ask verifying questions to access your account information.

  • Q: Is enrollment in BFSFCU Voice ID optional?

    A: Yes. If you have already enrolled and find that you don’t enjoy the security and convenience of telephone assistance with BFSFCU Voice ID, you can opt out. Simply complete the Voice ID Opt-Out secure form through Self Service in Digital Banking or please call 202-212-6400 to speak with a Member Services Representative.
